I don’t think I actually knew at what point you left Trump’s administration. I remember you during the 2024 campaign supporting Harris and trying to get the message out of a future that you could clearly see coming. I didn’t realize that you left in September of 2020. I can’t even image the horror you must’ve felt watching Jan 6 happening. You are incredibly brave and an inspiration to people who share your values. Thank you for doing the right thing when so few could.
Thank you Olivia for being the living embodiment of all that America stands for, and showing relentless courage, integrity, honor and commitment to our fundamental American ideals throughout your career. Over the past five years you've been truly tested, and shown the world what you are made of. That when things were hardest for you personally, you still chose to do the right and honorable things, regardless of personal cost. You are a hero.....Full stop. You are the truest of Patriots.......Full stop.
As a life-long Democrat, and one who appreciates and respects so many of the Republican Party values (balancing budgets, Bulwark again Russian aggression, adherence to the constitution, freedom of speech, the party of Lincoln) it is sickening to watch this current administration and Congress abandon pretty much every one of the party's core tenants and ideals. Everything is literally upside down, exhibiting a stunning display of cowardice, fecklessness, weakness and fear.
We are so far beyond political party now, we are in a the fight for the very soul of our nation.
Thank you for all you are doing - it does take courage and I don’t want to be silent anymore! It is painful watching the fear that so prevalent in the republican senators and representatives, CEO’s, media outlets, etc. it has been such a shock to me that these powerful, intelligent people can acquiesce to such evil!!!
So many of your columns have been keepers, but this one stands out, both as testimony to your difficult journey and as a challenge to all those people who are afraid to take a step out of what they have to know is a very bad situation for the country.
Strange, isn't it, how so many revere and celebrate those who in 1776 pledged to each other "our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor," and those who in the almost 250 years that followed have stood up, risked everything, and often given their lives for the principles and promise of the United States of America -- but hide in the shadows when their own times call them to do likewise.

I hope that you gained strength from that one small but meaningful win for us. The world is seeing what is happening to America and I think that they are shocked. This is a difficult time, but we will get through it if we stay strong.
