I’m unfortunately familiar with Trump’s rhetoric. I watched it operate in real time first hand, but his Truth Social post about Rob Reiner still bothered me at my core.
It was horrid. Not because it was shocking, but because it was intentional. This is what happens when cruelty is treated as entertainment instead of the warning sign it is.
I so agree. It was visceral. It exposed his true evil. I feel for you, having had to work with him. I am an old former republican, a combat vet from Vietnam, and a 40-year magazine hack. We know that not all is wrong in the world, really not even in the U.S. but it feels like it when these days happen. Thank you for using specific, kind words to share what's on your mind. Thank you Olivia for putting this craziness in perspective for me. I’ve been wandering aimlessly in my heart and mind these past few days not being able to label what I’m feeling. I still don’t think I can. I hurt for so many people right now. I feel helpless in what I can do. I feel my prayers have gone unanswered. I’ve walked the path of the Reiners without the end result and ask myself “why them and not me”. This world has me upside down and inside out. Thank you again for putting it straight.
