Thank you for what you do - it is important. But, please stay safe. I was at the protest in Fort Wayne Indiana where we had a huge (for us) crowd of 5000 chanting, waving signs, cars honking as they drove by, speakers and music. It was a festive affair with a serious purpose. And that purpose is very serious - we have a Constitution to protect and uphold and a Democracy to protect.

Pamela, my husband and I joined a protest just north of Ft Wayne, in LaGrange. It’s a very small town. Their last march had around 50 people the organizers said. This time over 300 people joined in. Very encouraging.

I grew up (until I was 9) in Lagrange.

We live in a neighboring town and decided to attend the one in Lagrange instead of attending a larger one to the west of us. It’s a nice little town, I was surprised at the turnout since it’s a very red area in a very red state.

I live in Nappanee! I wasn't able to attend any protests because I was down for the count with a wicked case of vertigo, but I loved seeing the livestreams and pictures from all over.

the violent rhetoric out of the whitehouse and all of its affiliated people is reprehensible .. and likely will not change … noem after the attack on a senator .. the orange felon.. pick a day .. I am convinced that we, the democrats need to have an alternative press conference every day, sending out the correct messages .. we must be visible and loud .. right now we are allowing the ultra wealthy crowd to frame us ..

SANTA MONICA APOLOGIZES FOR STEPHEN MILLER and IF KAMALA HAD WON, WE’D ALL BE AT BRUNCH are favorites, along with the sign-wearing dogs: NOBODY EATS ME, and children: MY GREAT-GRANDPA FOUGHT FASCISM, AND NOW I DO.

The founders had their faults for sure, but when they wrote the First Amendment, I doubt they considered that "the press" would be mostly run by corporations and billionaires or that public figures would take "freedom of speech" as the freedom to lie with impunity.

They did argue over the Second Amendment, and the slave states won out. (Carol Anderson's book THE SECOND is an excellent history of this.) But it wasn't till our own time, and thanks largely to the Republican-run Supreme Court, that the "right to bear arms" went seriously out of control. Every one of the massacres you mention was committed with firearms, and many with firearms that don't belong in the hands of civilians.

When public figures lie without remorse and their listeners have access to all the guns they could want -- well, here we are.

I marched in Saint Paul, Minnesota - I was not going to let my fear keep me from exercising my right to protest against this administration

Hey Olivia, My small town of Middletown Maryland had several hundred demonstrators protesting the melon felon's blatantly unconstitutional and subversive acts. The TACO hat was worn proudly. We also had a demonstration in Frederick Maryland that was attended by several thousand.

Mike Lee is a grinning, unintelligent jackass. How the eff did he ever get elected to the Senate?! Will his comrades vote to censure such foul behavior? Nope, and that is exactly how such bull$#!+ becomes normalized. Does Mike Lee even understand how the internet works? He can't hide the fact that he (or an underling in his name) said it! He needs to accept responsibility for such callous statements.

My wife and two of my oldest friends marched in Portland, OR's rally and parade. It was the biggest demonstration I have been to in my life, "tens of thousands of people" as reported in local news. I played my trumpet in a "leftist" brass band for the whole 3-mile march. It was peaceful, the Black Bloc was either somewhere else of laying low, and police were blocking off the parade route.

And then there is the tainted military that cheers an insurrectionist, criminal, felon, and boos CA elected officials trying to stop the illegal trump rampage. trump had the soldiers chosen for their looks and loyalty to the criminal in thief. No fatties! A sad day when the Army becomes the bone spur trump's play toy.

Yes, there is hope with No Kungs and the large crowds that made the trump parade look like a complete failure. Yet trump is only underwater in the polls by 10% or so. 40% still approve of the most grotesque, ignorant, and incompetent person to ever enter the Oval Office. So things will have to gt a lot worse for trump to fall to the level in the polls that make him toxic to republicans. Ud there was any justice, the slimy, conspiracy laden mike lee would be censured in the senate. He is despicable with his MN maga murder comments.

Corporate media seems to be downplaying the protests and keeping close to trump's expanding butt waiting for the next word salad belch. Great to see independent media, including Olivia, taking up the slack and promoting the facts. Elected dems actually seem to be catching some of the protest energy. Better late than never! As the anti fascists voices get louder and stronger, it gives us the fortitude to meet the moment! T
