All so scary and true. I have been concerned about the 2026 and 2028 elections. Hopefully it will be such a landslide that there will be no questions but we cannot sit back. We need to stay focused. Thank you for this information.

I strongly encourage Olivia of Troye subscribers to view the Texas "hearings" on redistricting. The verbal testimony from those opposing this move is worth viewing and listening to. Please note, too, that the new redistrict maps have yet to be revealed.

Yes, election integrity, frankly integrity in general, is critical to a civilized society. But manipulating elections is the diametrically opposite of integrity. It borders on racism to the point of marginalizing of parts of the electorate which historically had been discriminated against in the history of our country. Steven Miller is an enigma, but one thing for sure he’s also a racist. If he had any moralistic guidance during his formative years I would really be surprised. I would guess that he’s been influenced by dictators in history who for a while took over countries only to suffer, thankfully, serious setbacks. And with a man like Donald Trump, who probably never had an original thought, Miller has found a patsy to put forth his ridiculous plans.

I’m concerned about the movement to put away mail-in ballots. Here in Washington State, despite the fact that turnouts despite the ease of submitting a ballot through the mail or a nearby ballot box, languishes to a disappointingly low turnout level. But is there fraud? Enough to make any significant difference in an election’s results? The answer here in Washington would be a certain “No!” Again, when bad ballots are cast it’s a bad thing. No rightfully thinking person would say otherwise. But isn’t it a better idea to try and have universal voting wherein registered voters must submit their ballots? And how about making Election Day a Federal Holiday? The fact that 93 million citizens failed to vote in the 2024 elections is stultifying. If you are a citizen you are entitled to register to vote and should be encouraged to ensure you have the right and duty to vote in every election regardless of its significance. School board election? Yes! Local city council election? Yes! Voting for new parks and other civic improvements? A giant Yes!

In this society the crime should be for not voting. The crime should be for manipulating the electorate through ridiculous exclusion rules. With universal participation in elections nobody would be able to say the outcome didn’t count or fret because the other side got its way. We just need to have everyone participate!

I'm glad lawsuits are already lined up, and that folks like you, Marc Elias, Norm Eisen, and others are all over it. It's frustrating living here in Texas, where our politicians absolutely know they're doing the wrong thing, not even trying to defend it with a good faith argument, but rationalizing it as a "necessary evil" for some "greater good".

There is plausible circumstantial evidence that Trump was able to corrupt the counting of votes in the 2024 election by remotely manipulating ballot tabulators using Starlink. Please donate to support Smart Elections. Their lawsuit is the only chance we have before the 2026 midterm elections to determine whether or not Trump has figured out a way to remotely manipulate ballot tabulators to ensure he maintains Republican control of the House and the Senate. Why do he and Republican leadership seem so unconcerned about the unpopularity of the Big Beautiful Bill and ICE actions? They know voting won't matter.

I was an enthusiastic follower of This Will Hold, but unintentionally offended him for some reason that is still unknown to me and he blocked me. (If you have a relationship with him, please ask him to unblock me.)

BTW This Will Hold has certainly compiled a lot of circumstantial evidence which has been very enlightening, but hasn't actually proved anything. Proof awaits the findings in the Smart Elections lawsuit.

I like the use of plain text endnotes. That's how Cox-Richardson does it; you are writing history for the future's books, and real, ink-and-paper books don't have embedded links.

How anyone can say, at this point, that this is a democracy, is beyond me. It never really was and it certainly isn't one now. It's just a tissue player thin facade of a democracy. That is why we have to look beyond elections (I'm not saying you shouldn't vote, even though we are fighting with both hands behind our backs) and to direct people power, civil disobedience, focused boycotts (who needs ridiculously expensive cups of crappy coffee from Starbucks anyway) and yes mass protests, but they need to be every day not just when it is convenient. When you are backed up against a wall you have no choice to fight, and fight we must!

Agree! Here is my source of mail-in ballot blocking in part of Philadelphia, the official website of Philadedelphia City Commissioners, showing ~ 4000 voters whose ballots were Returned Undeliverable or rejected for Invalid Signature, Improper ID, Possible Wrong Date, etc. Note the Demographics of the names and the reasons for ballots being blocked:

<https://vote.phila.gov/media/2024_General_Election_Deficiency_List_.pdf>. These are only the voters whose ballots were not cured by Election Day!

My wife and I were both approved for mail-in ballots. Mine arrived, hers was Returned Undeliverable - same address, both legal names on our mailbox! She took her documents to Phila. City Hall and voted, but many did not know to do so. She was targeted as a female with a Spanish name. Curing her ballot > 3 weeks after mine arrived, she never received a notice that her mail-in ballot was Returned Undeliverable. Just part of multifocal Criminal Election Interference! Agree?

- RD, Philadelphia.
