"Energy Secretary Chris Wright told Congress this week that claims the administration targeted clean energy projects in Democratic states were, and I quote, "bullshit."" - This idiot, who thinks solar energy is worthless because it does not operate at night is a disgrace and a Trump sycophant. I lose sleep at night knowing he is charge of the USNRC. Dumb as Rocks this fracking advocate.

As far as Mexico, nice win but you will need to amp it up for the knockout round. Crowd was great and believe me, based on our screwed-up country, I am rooting for Mexico and Canada as well. The Mexican community is welcoming - look at the video of the Mexican fans hoisting a South Korean fan in the air after their match. Proud of them!

The Orange Moron is feeling cornered and knows he’s in big trouble in the midterms. That means he’s more dangerous than ever and will resort to anything to skew the election. And he’s surrounded himself with sycophants who will do anything for him. These are scary times.

So glad you and your mom got to cheer on your favorite soccer team! Cherish the memories. And thank you for all you do for us.

Olivia, the voter fraud BS has me shaking. Here in AZ our amazing Secretary of State Adrian Fontes has won all of the cases he has filed and those brought against him by the Trump Administration regarding mail-in ballots, turning over our voter rolls, etc. That gave me hope until I saw this week, USPS may not be delivering mail-in ballots. Is Adrian Fontes supposed to battle USPS too? It never fails that when you think it cannot possibly get worse, it does. Will Trump in the 2+ years he’s got left, succeed? Are there any plans to combat the unimaginable amount of fraud being perpetrated by the President and his henchmen?

Ellen - seeing they could not oust DeJoy during the Bien years and with the subsequent re-election, it raised for me a red flag! DeJoy is a total Trump sycophant and a problem. We need to think outside the box. In NJ and now Nevada, I use mail in voting. For the midterms, because of Dejoy and his corrupt affiliation, I am bringing my ballot to a drop off location. Also encourage all people to check their registration through https://iwillvote.com/. We can only rely on ourselves! Get aggressive and defeat these cheaters.

Thank you! Almost everyone here in AZ votes by mail. There are people in remote areas who wd have to drive 4hrs! to vote. This attempt to suppress the Democratic vote is outrageous.

Did you see the video of some Trump stooge here in AZ going up to a voting machine and walking off with some of the machine's inners? I think he's gonna be getting a knock on his door soon.

Ellen Brown's avatar

Yes. It’s all surreal

I agree with you wholeheartedly about De Joy, but he resigned as Postmaster General on March 24, 2025. As of July 15, 2025, David P. Steiner is Postmaster General. As of now, I know nothing about him. But it looks as though it’s time to take a seriously closer look.

Thanks for the update! I assume this new PG is a Trump sycophant

The "board" was still trying to stall on taking Trump's name down. They messed around with scaffolding all of yesterday. The judge said by noon today! We'll see. These people are dirty, rotten scoundrels.

Oh boy. Albania, you give me goosebumps.

I remember wondering back in 2017 or 2018 when it was becoming obvious this was gonna be worse than I thought "why aren't there mobs with pitchforks and torches outside the WH?"

Why are we so indifferent? Not all of us; not you, me or anyone reading this. But as a nation, why do so many of us see his cruelty, his stupidity, his lawlessness, the threat he poses and say "what's for lunch?".

Good question for someone with sociological and/or psychological heft, but my opinion is this: We've had it too good for too long. We've never been attacked or invaded; we've never really had to fight for our freedom or safety in the last 250 years. We are the wealthy family on the block with the nicest house, couple Mercedes in the driveway and a perfectly manicured lawn. When a storm blows through and rips off roofs and uproots trees, their property is untouched.

This Ohio thing you write about is frightening, and we'll see more of it. In AZ some guy has been seen on video disassembling a voting machine. Trump has assembled a nearly impenetrable multi layered administration that is capable of ending the American Experiment. Everything from city councils to statehouses to Congress is MAGA infested; the Supreme Court is gone; once revered institutions are in a state of collapse - the NY Times, WaPo, FBI, CBS, CNN, others.

There are some heroic figures like Marc Elias, Rick Wilson and you, Olivia, standing up, speaking out, enduring threats but persisting. But there are more weak, flaccid players like Michael Smerconish, Chris Cillizza, Jake Tapper and others who want to both sides us into oblivion.

We are in serious trouble

I invoke Linda Perry:

"And so I wake in the morning, and I step outside

And I take a deep breath, and I get real high, and I,

scream from the top of my lungs, "WHAT'S GOIN' ON?!!!"

Great reporting as usual Olivia. It certainly seems like our world as well as our Country both need to find a way out of this huge slide away from humanity. It has made me lose what little religion I had left, and made me doubt that most people are inherently good and conscientious. There is a lot of evil in this world, and I am afraid that most of us just look the other way or "look down at the table" when bad things happen, as Navalny once said. If evil conditions do not affect us directly, we look away. Look at the 2024 election: 34% of registered voters did not even vote! We, ourselves, are destroying our Country via total APATHY! Just pisses me off!

I love these Saturday posts. SO much here, and a wide variety, and I adore the photo of your soccer fun. You’re a lovely daughter and a lovely person. I look forward to seeing you in office one day.

And girl, sometimes a li’l nip before breakfast is not a bad thing. Choose your poison. 😉

When I vote by mail, as soon as I get the ballot, I IMMEDIATELY COMPLETE AND MAIL IN AT LEAST A MONTH AHEAD OF TIME. You hear the President claim fraud in voting when, in fact, they are doing it every second. Suppressing your vote. Behind the scenes with Heather Honey, Tina Peters and the election deniers he has quietly installed. Makes me sick.

Thank you!! Excellent as usual.
