You forgot one other uplifting thing - Obama's celebration of their library! If you missed it I highly recommend you watch it on you tube! Their speeches hit it way out of the park!!!
Wow. I needed that last sentence. Such a profound reminder in this transactional society we live in that it's reaching out and being a decent human being that leaves the mark, not how much wealth you can amass. Thank you.
Every week I look forward to reading your Covfefe. I was worried when it didn’t come yesterday and so relieved when it did today. You are a genuine inspiration to us, Olivia. Muchas Gracias!
Hope you are having a wonderful day Olivia! Even in dark times we have to rejoice better times. I got a Facebook post from a woman I've known for a very long time, who is fighting cancer. I felt I had to kind of cheer her up! I told her I'm going to be getting hip surgery in the future and that my fight with pain pails in comparison to what she is going through. I told her to fight the good fight and I will deal with my current situation and when we are both through are stuff maybe we can meet and hug and laugh about old times. I truly hope this happens for her in particular.
Congrats to Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great passion out here in Vegas for the team. I was wondering where the Covfefe was as it is a favorite on a Saturday morning
- I do not understand how a smart, clear headed woman like you ever worked a day in a GOP Administration. Maybe some day you’ll tell that story
- “a country searching for something to believe in.” A different way of saying “the country has been steamrolled by hate and lies from the right wing media industrial complex for 45 years; a Dem party that lacks leadership; AND a registered Dem voter base that won’t turn out and focuses on purity testing our candidates”. There are exceptions but not nearly enough. And at the very top, we got nothing
- This week’s scene of scenes was Trump at the G7, babbling, lying, calling childish names etc … and Lutnick standing behind him, smiling, giggling, laughing, having a great ol’ time while Rubio stood there with a thousand yard stare, expressionless, almost as if he’d been roofied. Totally weird, yet … totally normal
Always pay attention to the sycophantic boobs standing dutifully behind him. It’s like a scene from The Berghoff with Goerring, Goebbels, Speer and the boys, yukking it up and chatting fondly about the opening of the latest expansion of Dachau
I can't imagine the grief of Emily's parents, but I love the way they honored her memory at what would have been her graduation. Thanks for sharing that, Olivia.
Ms. Troye. I believe (sadly) that you are correct about how people feel and the outcome. I come from Michigan and watched most of the car and component factories close. I believe people felt cheated that you no longer make six figures with a high school education. I also believe that “Make America Great Again” also means “before black people could get good jobs or become the President.” I think it is therefore more sinister than you say. I also passionately believe the American Dream still lives. Work very hard from your first day of kindergarten. Get into a great college and a great graduate school, get a great job. Anyone can do it.
Thanks Olivia : No problem been a day late and a dollar short. So much is happening , World Cup and Iran news. So much going on. Mexico , USA and Canada are doing quite well so far. Being an anti-death advocate myself, I'm wondering if Ohio Governor Mike DeWine had a change of heart also. Putting a man to death for an abhorrent crime saves no one and changes nothing. It is actually bringing the state down to the level of the culprit. The toll it takes on the executioners is horrendous. The story of Emily Matejovitz’s life tugged at my heart .. thanks.
I agree--states' execution of death sentences is a giant fail. They should be blocked from doing it by Congressional legislation. The death sentence should be at Federal level, extremely rare, and done by firing squad. It's inhumane, but necessary in extreme cases. Murderous crimes against the state, murder of prison guards--that's it.
