The Fear Is Indeed The Point
Charlie Sykes and I discuss my immigration court attendance and more…
This week I sat down with
on To the Contrary, to share my firsthand observations from inside our immigration courts—what I witnessed there was chilling. The ICE tactics. The fear. These are not isolated incidents—they are part of a larger, alarming pattern. We also discussed the threats we face here at home and across the world.I hope you’ll take the time to listen to this important conversation. As always, thank you for supporting our work and for staying engaged.
Meanwhile, I’ve taken a little time to process everything that’s unfolded this week. And in doing so, I found myself out on the water, floating quietly past the Lincoln Memorial. Talking to my favorite—Abraham Lincoln—about the state of the republic and the demise of the Grand Old Party.
It’s become something of a tradition. A moment of reflection. A reminder of what leadership once looked like in the GOP.
In case you’re wondering: yes, Lincoln’s still there. Though some days, I half expect him to walk out in protest. Or worse…be replaced by a golden statue of Trump.
Don’t you dare, Donald.

We need to have a callTo action at various high profile immigration courts. When ICE is there they should be greeted by hundreds of citizens asking where’s your badge, where’s you warrant, remove your
mask.
Right? Every time I throw out some possibility of what he might do, usually as a joke, it happens, so now I don’t even say it. It’s like he scans the internet for his next insane idea.
