First great interview with Jim Acosta. This just PROVES to all that the Administration is focused on defending civil violence as they come after our vote and taking voting machines and sew doubt.
Anyone given one of those weapons should experience it before using it on others. They also need to consider how it’s possible their weapons might get turned onto them in a struggle. I’m now recalling Trump’s threat of planning a big surprise in a few weeks. I think they plan to use it on protesters after he thwarts his loss. Governors need to call out the national guard to protect election offices in each state from federal thugs. I’m not kidding. This is an evil weapon and sounds like it could easily blind someone.
What I still can’t understand is why a weapon specifically designed to inflict excruciating pain on human beings is considered acceptable in the first place.
The military hesitated to use this thing in war, and now we’re handing it to domestic law enforcement? Calling it “nonlethal” doesn’t make it humane. And given the history you’ve laid out here, the possibility of this being used against protesters, migrants or detainees should absolutely terrify us.

One thing for the military to use - highly trained with strong chain of command. And I note that they chose not to use it. Now, we give it to yahoos with two months of training, who think its ok to fire at citizens and people they are trying to arrest, on the street and through car windows. In front of children. I just don't see any need or justification.
It would not astonish me in any way if Trump and Stephen Miller are planning to use the silly thing for a coup around Election Day. They are just evil enough to do so.

What worried me in particular is the duration of radiation since there did not appear to be a built-in off-switch after a maximum of 5 seconds at a time, after which more serious damage can occur and also, considering the lack of training ICE goons receive, what guarantees will be provided that CBP will be properly trained?
The world is a far poorer place now that the USA has twice elected a felon to the most influential position in history...

I have a relative who was a police officer - for his taser training, he had to be tased himself as part of the training. Makes sense.
