This may be the most important subject for all Americans to be aware of right this moment in our, clearly, declining state of affairs. All decisions have consequences and in this country, you have beautifully and pragmatically stitched together the ripple effects of a single decision in a system designed for massive production but completely dependent on multiple variables! I will share your article but I sure wish it could be published in places where stubborn MAGA farmers could not help but read it as it truly captures the urgency and necessity for action now! Thank you for your work and your insight, backed by just enough evidence that it will not overwhelm readers who need to understand this spiraling at an elemental level!!

Timely! New Jersey is called the Garden State and the consequential impacts are just beginning to be felt. We need to know NOW the information you are reporting and hold CONGRESS and the US Senators who made this lunacy and cruelty a REALITY , accountable and VOTE THEM OUT.

Thank you for shining light on these food related issues. Organic farmers who feed local people and improve the quality of the soil and waterways are particularly impacted by these crazy MAGAt policies

Your newsletter resonates with me because a couple of days ago, I wrote an article about Starving the Children. Although yours is a little different and better written than mine, it conveys the same meaning. People are starving all over the world, and all our cutbacks is not going to help. Food is a priority, not something to play around with. Thank you for your article.

Thank you. I appreciate your feedback and you taking the time to read it. It’s an issue I’m concerned about that doesn’t get much attention.

I found irony in the following. The immigrant farmers have been deported and now they’re asking who to pick blueberries on the weekend.

Thank you, Olivia, for telling truth to powerin this article. Sadly, our democracy gave us Trump for 4 more years, albeit because of the lies that led so many people to vote for him, but, the task of informing people daily to reconsider voting for those of his ilk next time just may turn all of this chaos around for the better. I'm hoping so and banking on it.

Thank you, Olivia, for the stark reminders of how trump and project 2025 are leading America down a very hungry and deadly path. The trump, republican policy has always been feed the wealthy and starve the poor, working class and middle class. Instead of doing that figuratively, they are doing it literally. I find it sickening that musk, the wealthiest person in the world, took his deadly doge chainsaw to USAID, which has led to more than 330,000 deaths already, and estimates show that 14 million could die because of those cuts. And included in that grisly, gruesome, musk, trump project 2025, little marco effort to gut USAID is the fact that tens of thousands of infants and children have and are dying of starvation while food aid rots in storage sheds and docks.

With that near genocidal effort by republicans,is it any wonder that they don't give a damn about starving American families and children? Destroying the critical agricultural research is disturbing, but the abject disregard for life is repulsive. The tech bros are more concerned about funding their phallic symbol rockets than funding food research or food banks. Not only will farmers go belly up, but children's bellies will be empty. Yet 75% of farmers voted for trump. The price paid for that vote will be steep.

I can only assume that Stalin, Mao, and Lucifer blush at the deranged cruelty and deadly consequences of trump and his big deadly bill.

The GOP is a death cult. What we are seeing is the result of decades of republican policies coming to fruition. It will only end when the GOP dies too. The only question is how many of us are going down with them.

Yep guess what it's Milton Friedman all over again they are trying to create a crisis so that is the only endpoint that can actually cause real change I personally think they are following the Milton Friedman Playbook

Yes, but “they” pick and choose Milton Friedman just like they do the Bible. For instance, Friedman preaches that trade deficits are a good thing. Seriously good.

Thank you Olivia : The Heritage Foundation , Project 2025 and all the authors should be swept under the rug. The devastation it is causing all Americans is catastrophic. Climate change is a reality . the weather is getting warmer , more floods, fires and hurricanes. Putting farmers at a disadvantage by eliminating satellites is plane crazy. Deporting immigrant labor to unknown countries is just plain cruelty. It just leads to good food rotting in the fields. Stopping USAID is not only cruel it is eliminating your diplomatic footprint world wide. Planning to do anything , what to plant , what to manufacture , when to purchase , is always problem when it comes to Trumps little tariff games. Trumps capitulation to the fossil fuel cabal will only lead to more pollution and global warming. Stopping solar and wind power is total insanity. Windmills do not cause cancer.
