My concern is how you vote in congress. We don't need another Joe Manchin in our party, and you are originally a Republican. I genuinely like you and appreciate what you've done, but I really need to know how you stand and how you will vote if I'm going to support you. I believe Republican policies have led to populism and, consequently, Trump. Defunding education and social welfare programs, as well as supporting corporations with their tax breaks created the 'great divide' between the wealthy and lower classes. And no one has given much thought to decent paying jobs in our country so people aren't poor and desperate and living on the edge. Please spend some time explaining what Democrat platforms you support. And thank you for speaking out against Trump.
Great questions & they echo many of us! I’ve followed Olivia as long as she’s had a public face. When she supported VP Pence during Jan 6, I knew she was no longer supporting the republikan party. Her support of Pence was pure humanity-like any of us would have done. I’ve not heard her support any part of this aberrant republikan party since, but I’ve also not heard her support the Democratic Party. I’ll be interested to hear her views & commitments. We need younger people who respect freedom, so I’m hoping she values our Democratic Party beliefs.
I’ve also asked Ms. Troye to confirm that she’s running as a Democrat, because, although I may have missed it, I’ve seen no definitive mention of that fact. I need to know because Democratic control of the house is way too crucial to risk supporting anyone else but a person who will completely reject GOP mandates.
