Unfortunately, brave words will not be enough. We need wisdom too. Trump has all the power. Given any plausible pretext (another big recession?), he can stop all future fair elections. What is wisdom?
It is NOT "fight, fight, fight".
It is - be wise.
We are like a motorist facing an armed carjacker - fight and die or give him the keys and live? The Arab communities around Israe have fought. And died.
Wisdom? Negotiate. Give him what he wants in return for what we want. We can make him TRULY popular and free him from any need to suck up to the fat cats he envies.

This is in marked contrast to some of the other publications that scream and shout and are generally a turnoff.

I agree with your Wish List... similar to mine for our Nation. Very trying times ahead. Unless the SANE among us not waiver in true American Patriotism, our good Nation may unravel to the point it may not be recognizable in 3 years. When I was your age in the 1970s/1980s, & just beginning my career, I never thought we'd be in such a tough situation. I thought, in just a decade after Civil Rights (I was in middle school), we'd be regressing some 50 years later. We have made many great strides...but the thought of kakistocratic, oligarchical Kleptocracy mixed with White Nationalism wasn't on my mind then. I never thought we'd elect such a faulty person as POTUS. Good people like you & others, & the largest portion of American citizens MUST keep true American values as our GOALS. If we fail, it could be very tough to return to them for our children & future generations. It is for THEM we must stand strong!!

Most of us have gotten over our initial shock and sadness at Trump winning the election. Most of us are girded for battle not just against Trump and the MAGA insanity, but for the things we average Americans want and need. Our greatest ally in this fight, the stupefying inability for the Republicans to get anything done. A total clown show.
