Tina Peters' commutation is so wrong. The Republican prosecutor and election officials in Mesa County (where she was convicted) urged Polis not to do it. The county had to replace all its election equipment after her actions. Election officials are now even more worried about election, employee and volunteer security with this commutation. Peters will be back on the election denier trail as soon as she's sprung from prison. Out of all the decisions he's made as governor (some good, some bad), this is all Polis will be remembered for now. As a Coloradoan, all I can say is good riddance when he's gone.
I'm a Coloradoan also and I immediately wrote to him: "Gov. Polis WHAT IN THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? Tina Peters was found guilty! You have NO right to let her off with a lighter sentence!!! Are you a tRUMP MAGA? If you can undo what you have done PLEASE DO SO!"

Why is it "so wrong"? It sounds like she was singled out for an unusually harsh sentence -- how does her sentence compare to those meted out for other election interference? How is the cost of election equipment relevant to her sentence? Was she perhaps required to replace it or contribute to its replacement? Why should the worries of election officials influence the sentence? Btw, being an election denier isn't a crime -- violating election law is.
Peters broke multiple laws and was convicted by a jury. Her resentencing was already in progress after the appeals court decision. There were zero reasons for Polis to interfere in the judicial process. It was wrong.

Voters voted yes in Virginia, their completely biased Supreme Court said, 'no, you can't do that." And Dems just rolled over and said, ok, we won't do it. NO - JUST DO IT! That's what the GOP is doing in state after state. Yes, it's illegal. If they are cheating, Dems have to cheat back. Yes, it's revolting, but if we don't, they will completely overwhelm Dems in the midterms and cement Fascism. There will never be another real election if they 'pad' Congress with extra seats. GOP does whatever they want but Dems have to abide by the rules. Ridiculous. We have to "clap back". They set the tone and in spite of what they think and say, they can't have it both ways.
We need to all be alarmed when the Supreme Court is complicit in taking voter rights away. It was ok in TX for Republicans but not ok in VA for Democrats. Having a president who worships Putin and Xi is disastrous for any American who believes in democracy. The “summit” did zero to advance American interests and everything to advance China’s. Can they communicate? ICE needs to be ABOLISHED! AND serious attention paid to CBP! I just watched Wajahat Ali's interview with Jenn Budd (a former CBP agent) about how corrupt that agency is! Rapists, pedophiles as heads of divisions etc.

EPA is not doing its job for American people. Our health is more important than an AI data center. If that is expensive, then let the owners of these centers foot the bill. It is their responsibility to do business responsibly! That is EPAs job.
