Well, of course Trump wants Infantino in charge of the UN. Infantino has already shown himself to be a spineless sycophant to Trump. Not only is he not qualified, the world doesn’t need, better yet, can’t afford to have a friend of Trump in the UN.

It may really mean he wants Infantino in the UN because he thinks he can manipulate him and the UN.

It didn't make the national news, but one week ago Cincinnati got more than 6 inches of rain in less than an hour. Historically, it's the largest amount recorded since tracking events like this began.

My neighborhood was one of several city neighborhoods (and two neighboring communities not within city limits) that experienced damaging flooding. Lots of people I know are facing major losses to cars and property. https://www.uc.edu/news/articles/2026/07/cincinnati-rainfall-patrick-ray-unesco-expert-rain-flooding-civil-engineering.html

“After months of fighting in the Middle East, energy analysts say oil markets are finally beginning to price in long-term disruption to global supplies.”

100%. Throw in fertilizer, etc. I'm not saying this is what's going to happen, but that's how I'd bet.

We should all be sad for our country in its semiquincentennial year.

The car crash/hug story got me right in the feels. I really needed that today. I truly appreciate you and all you do. Thanks, Olivia!

It saddens me that kind of response is so "shocking."

"The order directs the National Park Service to install government signage outside the National Museum of American History warning visitors that the museum’s exhibits are biased and directing them to what the White House considers more accurate historical information. This is an extraordinary use of executive authority."

SEE YOU IN COURT

[Running the UN is definitely not like running soccer clubs]

[…brings people together is not like bringing soccer clubs together]

???…people wrongly believed he could run the country because he ran

The Brazilian hug story reminded me of an event in my life. A neighbor and I got into a spirited discussion. I wanted him to stop. He didn't. I lost my cool and shouted at him. His response, "Are you OK?" caused me to think about how I was not doing OK, and needed to change for the better. His thoughtful reply helped me take better care of myself emotionally as well as physically. I'm in much better shape and doing well thanks to him.

“Donald Trump Jr. says there’s nothing wrong with making money while your father is president.”

So why did he and other Republicans raise such a big stink about what Hunter Biden was doing?

Once Hercules, or maybe the rising Potomac, cleanses D.C. of this administration, the Smithsonian should mount an exhibition on How Attempted Authoritarian Takeovers Fail.

Gianni Infantino? But of course. Sebastian Gorka? But of course. Olivia, one day we will have removed these people from public view. I wish that could be done simply by ignoring them.

Paolo Amaral needs to be promoted for his decent and civilized approach to an accident. A man who can notice that a fellow human is in much more distress over a small fender bender than is appropriate is a man we need to influence us against our ingrained "shoot first, ask questions later" approach to problem solving. Look how much better both their lives are because they treated other with humanity.

This whole regime is run by people who don’t know what it is that they don’t know.

They don't care, either.
