As a retired Army SGM, I was encouraged somewhat with word that the message coming back from CentCom was often "NO". Officers and Senior NCOs are not going to follow insane, illegal orders. Hairgel and Trump will not criminalize proud soldiers who took an oath to the Constitution. If they keep pushing, there will be a general Stand Down! We soldiers are better than this crap -- much better.

Olivia of Troye's avatar

Absolutely!! That was a positive sign. I love our amazing military. I’m giving you credit now because I know that I’m not ever forgetting the name hairgel because it’s just that damn good, and I’m going to have to use that at some point!!

Most importantly Jim, thank you for your service.

I’m so glad to hear finally that there are officers and senior NCO‘s refusing to follow insane illegal orders. Of course we don’t hear that part in the news! I had to laugh out loud when you use the name Hairgel for you know who… it’s obvious. It’s the guy that threw a hatchet while he was still a News anchor and it went right over the target and hit a drummer in the arm from a military band. Hmmm.

Ahhh but he’s loyal to Trump!

Hair gel. I’m borrowing that one!

Thank you for your service! I second Starlisa's comment below.

I'm so thankful for the marvelous and inspiring Artemis II mission that has lifted my spirits out of the dumpster fire of the past couple weeks. And I'm always thankful for you, Olivia! ❤️

Olivia, thank you for saying the quiet part out loud. Supreme Court rolling back civil rights, ICE spying, selective service as prelude to a draft. Keep being LOUD. Somewhere people are listening and maybe one day soon they may even think. I say it every week and need to say again. THANK YOU! You’re a girl boss.

No mention of Melania’s friend Amanda Ungaro?

This could be the most explosive development yet.

She’s threatening to blow the lid off Melania and the entire Epstein Industrial Complex and seems to have receipts.

In an era of increasing weirdness and persistent dystopia, there aren’t that many things that top that presser she held the other day. The ultimate Streisand Effect.

I say without a hint of exaggeration, her life is now in danger.

Olivia of Troye's avatar

Oh I’m tracking that…

Mike's avatar

Figured you would be. Maybe do a special Covevfe edition in the next day or two, before she’s floating in the Amazon with her tongue cut out.

With the flurry of pre-emptive pardons for the underlings, they must of be scared of something....But then why since Trump, thinks he is going to be there for life? these peeps will have immunity as presidential orders.

Olivia, your family must be incredibly proud of you for your courage & bringing us the truth. Thanks.

You do bring some interesting stories I don't necessarily see/hear about elsewhere. I'd like to add to your list if I may because I think it is extremely important that we all become aware of AI and the data centers that are taking over our country! I just learned of this site: https://thehumanmovement.org/ The AI Doc is a new movie about it too. It was supposed to come out March 27 but I guess I'll have to bug my local theater to bring it to town.

Trump, the draft dodger, wants to reinstate the draft. Ok, Baron first. Without the bone spurs.

You might think we Canadians are a little over sensitive these days, but given all the 51st state crap, thank you for for the shout out to Canadian participation in the Artemis mission. Many US news sources refer to all 4 Americans returning safely to earth.

Nobody's avatar

Like DR. Roberta Bondar said: We are nothing to the American's, and all she heard during her training in NASA, 'You are Canadian, you are nothing, and have nothing good to offer' This is how American's have always viewed us. which is really sad, B/C Mark Carney is going to put us Canadian's on the map again to say 'Fuck you' to the American's. and take back our technology that John Defienbaker took away from us from the Avro Areo & capitulated to an bulling American President who thought he was God at the time. Sorry Olivia, I love you, but I love my country better.

So much for the Supreme Court, ie, the radical right wing Maga majority. They are doing democracy no favors, especially the absolute immunity decision that the already corrupt "president" has taken to heart. His crime spree never ends and his cult base, even with 'cracks' showing, will continue to support him, as they are apparently of the same mindset and wanting a dictator. In the meantime, the United States has lost its status and respect in the world order at the hands of a psychotic megalomaniac, out for power and money.........never for "Making America Great"--just him.

Even with hearing that, the Brilliant Idea that the Iranian's had was charging a fee to go through the Straight. I'm sure that made Trump sit up straight, & take notice that not even him have thought of: Charging a fee to transit. NOW, he had wanted to get in on the action, with spiting the fees. Now, leads to my next question: Why does he need or want it? He has the American Treasury at his fingertips as he own personal piggy bank. AND - I might add if you American's are too stupid to see this - he is STEALING your tax dollars to fund...maybe to buy his STD life long condition with? It's a known fact in NYC, he has had Herpes since his early 30's. Just sayin.

The majority of us Americans see tRump for what he is, a felon, a conman, a grifter, a bigot, a misogynist, a psychopathic megalomanic with two things on his depraved brain MONEY and POWER. He is transactional in that regard. Three of our former presidents all refused Netanyahu's suggestion to join him in attacking Iran. They all recognized that Hormuz could be used to Iran's advantage as a trading chokepoint for vital products. But tRump is everybody's useful idiot and joined Bibi thinking the might of both militaries could overthrow Iran and he would emerge a hero. There was nothing new in history about that Strait. Five hundred years ago it was seized by Portuguese conquistadors who charged a toll to pass through it. This went on for years until the Shah of Iran captured it and he split the loot with Persia and Britain. In 1801 the United States declared all such tolls a crime against humanity. There are international laws against the practice. But along comes conman tRump and and he wants in on the extortion racket and become "partners" with Iran. Moments before they were "scumbags", now they are perfect business partners.

The "stupid" Americans are those gullible ones who dismissed his crimes in the 1st term and voted for him again on his "promises" to lower the costs of living and never to start any more forever wars. Now that he has fulfilled neither of those promises, some of his Maga cult members are leaving, but not enough. There is now a larger effort to get him out of office, but his sycophants in Congress who are in the majority and are the ones too "stupid" to see it is in their best interest and the nation to dump him. (by the way, his sexual proclivities are well known)

Nobody's avatar

I've read your reply with much careful thought and consideration. I have very much appreciated your knowledge of history, especially about the Straight in particular. In my earlier remarks about the 'Stupid' American's that were his supporters, I should of taken a more nuanced approach. (i really shouldn't post after a glass of wine btw) Granted, the gullible statement is far more suitable word.

I stand, especially amazed after 3 election cycles, they still believe this BS. this guy is still running rings around the democrats especially in playing dirty, the absolute choak hold over his party/sycophants, but I would guess, that he has some form of kompromat over each and everyone to keep them all in line. Very much Mob Boss-esc type of control. Megalomaniac is a perfect description. Add in Psychopathic disorder, this equals disaster of epic proportions. How (still amazes me) that he has gotten or at least managed to keep himself out of jail. Questions are still swirling about the murders/ppl suddenly dying by 'suicide' surrounding him now, and in his casino days. This is going to keep happening, and I wouldn't be surprised if you begin to see & hear ppl falling off of balconies, window, etc Much like Putin's playbook. What to do now? keep pressure up on your elected officials (That work for YOU) is to call and keep hammering them, don't let up, lastly, get out to vote. Too big to steal. I wish I could participate and help you all, this has made more of us on the edge, thus more a little more aggressive than normal. I follow Sheri Jacobus & Noel Casler - excellent sources for info

Sandra A. Jones's avatar

Mob boss is a good description of his style of operating. He has a lot of practice coming from the real estate business with his father and dealing with the mafia types criminal ventures.

Don't be surprised that the blockade he ordered of the Strait is going to bring on a confrontation with the Chinese and Iran shooting missiles at the America ships blocking the entrance. Just a guess.

Nobody's avatar

There, in itself, lies the key: Even before tRump got into office, he said, that he, along with Putin, is to control the world's energy supply. Even way far back at 1987 the first time he came back from Moscow, he said bomb Iran and keep their oil. If hind sight was only 20/20. That was a very telling remark - especially at this point in time. So, with that being said, this is we are all headed now, all at the behest of the leaders who have control over the ones who has not. This man will literally, through fear, hold us all hostage to his whims/extortion.

Yes, in reply to the blockade statement, I did read that as I woke up this morning to read the news on my phone. All I could think of...here we go again. Fk me. Now he has the power of the US military behind him to pull off shit like this. This madness, lunacy. You are exactly correct about China getting involved, tho, somehow as a important friend of Putin, a show down with China will not have teeth in the end. They will all smooth over ruffled feathers & allow China to have a piece of the pie. TRump is the key to all of this. Ultimately, have to remove him from office -permanently. Either 6ft under (that itself presents new problems in terms of succession) or to be voted out. Midterms is important - but I see problems there as well. I think he will manufacture an issue, pull off martial law to stop the midterms. Oh god, SMH. All I can think of at this point - feet first removal.

Sandra A. Jones's avatar

Now that you mention it, I think I recall hearing reports of felon tRump advocate keeping oil from adversaries...I thought it was Iraq?

So now he's ordered a blockade with only 6 US warships. He's going to seize, capture or sink them as they exit the strait with oil. The very oil that he lifted sanctions on a week or so ago and made Iranian oil legal. So tRump, the pirate of the sea, is going to steal the legal oil, which is an act of war to whoever the oil tanker belongs to. That will not set well with China, India or Pakistan (the mediator of "peace" talks). All of them will have their own military escorts for all inbound tankers and give US the middle finger. In the meantime Iran can release the suicide fast boats, the underwater tracker missiles, etc. Or they could release the 800 tankers that have been trapped inside the Persian Gulf since the beginning of the war. What will 6 US war ships do about that. US is screwed and I think the military knows it. Now to convince the mad king to surrender. Or do us a favor and the Saudis implement their Khashoggi solution to avenge the unnecessary trouble he has caused. IMHO

Didn’t even hint at answering my first question about the Boy Scout who built a nuclear reactor in his backyard: where is he now and did he get cancer? Or did he die from some kind of exposure to radioactivity?

Olivia of Troye's avatar

The way David Hahn’s life ended is very sad. I included the story because I was struck by how far he got, and how long it went unnoticed.

There’s been speculation about radiation exposure, but based on what’s been reported, there’s no clear evidence tying it to his death. I try not to go beyond what’s actually supported.

cindee68's avatar

He refused to be tested for radiation and died from "complications" related to drugs and alcohol at age 39. Thanks, Fran B.
