Itβs amazing how we are required to give up so many βfreedomsβ when we just want to fly to our vacation, but republicans bend over backwards to make it easier to get a firearm!
They have always been the party of βsmaller governmentβ when it comes to regulating business or the social safety net, but boy howdy do they want inside your bedrooms and to know every move you make. π
When we flew to Central Mexico in March, we were not even told the facial recognition system was being used. We didnβt figure out what was being done until we were already through the boarding process. We went through the same process when we flew back, and we were never given an option to opt-out of the scan.
We also never gave trump permission to give elon all of our SS and other personal data. So many crimes packed into every single day of the trump administration. Exactly like his last term.
I hope your fellow citizens are listening to your expert advice. State surveillance is the single most indicative distinguishing trait of totalitarian regimes.
This is so disturbing, but are we really surprised? Controlling people like Trump are also very insecure. Without any guardrails to protect us, his control over our government is scary. I've never seen the amount of fear tactics he's using to keep the few GOP members of the senate and congress who disagree with him in line with primary threats. Nothing will change until they are hopefully voted out of office. So much for his "transparency".
thank you Olivia: It is scary times , Don't buckle under. I was thinking about all that BS , DOGE was talking about ,wast, fraud and corruption. I feel it was just a large data grab on the American population to hand over to Peter Thiel to install in his palantir. program or whatever it is. The next info grabbing will possibly be facial recognition along with your DNA. They already have most of your personal information. It reminds me of 1933 Germany . the SS gathered all kinds of personal info. Just take the words Nazi and German out and put in America . When the Nazis came to power in 1933, the German constitution guaranteed freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Through decrees and laws, the Nazis abolished these civil rights and destroyed German democracy. Starting in 1934, it was illegal to criticize the Nazi government. Even telling a joke about Hitler was considered treachery. People in Nazi Germany could not say or write whatever they wanted.
The most well-known example was the invasion of the privacy of the citizens and residents of Nazi Germany, used to identify those who were members of disfavored groupsβracial, political or otherwise
Since so many planes crash into one another before even getting from the gate to the taxiway, I don't have any worries about its use at airports since I don't intend to use them anymore. I'm more worried about widespread use.
Warrantless. A lot of money is being spent on something that you have to wonder why the government cares about the average American citizen. Control? This is indeed scary.

This is the FIRST article I read this morning, and my day is now.....

In my 72 years in this country, I've never witnessed a more corrupt administration and complacent republican party that shits on the Constitution.
I'd say "corrupt" rather than complacent.

Is there anything in the law that can protect us from this??
If there is, Trump is ignoring it.
This is an important issue that nobody else is addressing. Thank you for making us aware of this, Ms. Troye.
"Big brother is watching"...George Orwell 1984
Thatβs bananas. It still surprises me the greed and corruption seen daily. Thank you Olivia, you are appreciated more than you know.
Olivia, thank you for informing us of this. Your expertise is so important during this terrifying time. Please keep speaking out.
I hope your fellow citizens are listening to your expert advice. State surveillance is the single most indicative distinguishing trait of totalitarian regimes.
Why arenβt democrats and independents screaming this from the rooftops?! Welcome to nazi germany america. Where big brother is always watchingβ¦

We are entering Nazi Germany police state - the American edition. This is scary shit that is not getting much coverage. Thank you Olivia!!!
Didn't know that there's an ulterior motive for this

We are living in the state of surveillance that not too many years ago, everyone fretted over! It is happening now, and now for good reasons!
