Thank you, Olivia! This is so relevant right now. You lay everything out so precisely and share it with your subscribers to help us see through the utter chaos of what this government is doing.
If we want to remove dangerous, destructive, and simply evil people from the U.S., let's start with Stephen Miller and everyone in the crime syndicate at the (theoretical) top of this maladministration. I notice that they haven't deported the immigrant who entered illegally and became first lady.
You present the background, and the intent of these actions from a position of insider knowledge. You have laid out the patterns and the problems so well.
Thank you Olivia, your article needs to be front page everywhere. Not just in the US either. It speaks to the entire world. We (any country) cannot deny refugees (from anywhere in the world) a pathway to citizenship and freedom. This must apply to every country or we just continue to live in a world where hatred grows and empathy dies. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, experience and insights.
Liked, restacked & shared to Bluesky (as always). A clear exposition of a tragic situation which should never have happened, and were it not for the reprehensible policies of the Trump regime & the vile members of his sycophantic entourage, probably would not. Thank you for this article - it should be taught in civics classes.
Seems an additional step to the vetting process would be to begin with vetting our own intentions. If we cannot enable an immigrant to live in our country with full rights and expectations we should not let them enter. If we cannot let them enter we should not ask them to carry our water while in country. The betrayal of trust, as Olivia fully describes, is what provides the energy for radicalization. IMO this is true whether a person is a fifth generation farmer from Oklahoma or a 20 something interpreter from the far corners of civilization.
This is an excellent piece of work, thank you Olivia.
So many important points, well articulated. And of course, even if Miller was to somehow his achievement his white nation nirvana, no ordinary American would be safe to travel outside the borders. They would be soft targets everywhere.
Well said. Unfortunately your thorough and thoughtful analysis won't translate well into a mean tweet, thus is very unlikely to be heard by those who need to hear it most.
An excellent summation, Olivia. Another possibility is that the shooter viewed the troops in D.C. as a MAGA version of the Taliban trying to seize power and control of his new country. We all know the natonal guard wasn't there to fight crime or restore order, but rather to stage a dress rehersal for what Trump has in mind for us down the line. Perhaps our shooter, himself a child of revolution and change of government, was trying to send us a message.
You have outdone yourself. THIS is your best post ever. Brava! I will boost it on my Substack later today. Thank you for your needed insights. 🗽

I agree and subscribed just now.
Such a clear, important post. Thank you for your dedication to keep us informed.
Brilliantly put💙
Concise, informative, and from someone in the know about this dreadful administration. Thank you!

You're a hero!
Thank you!
Perfect summary of the root cause of this tragedy. Too bad there is currently no one in power with your insight.
Today's column is one of the best I have seen about the nightmarish conditions in which Americans live. Brava, Olivia.

This needs to be published in MSM as well. Excellent piece.

Probably the best thing I’ve read on Substack!
