Thanks Olivia. I see the demolition of the East Wing of the People's House as a metaphor for what he's doing to our Democracy. Tear down and destroy the "structures" of our republic and replace them with crap that he thinks looks better than it functions. Case in point, Lindsey Halligan. Not legal, and can barely fill her position.
We should demand the document granting the approval for this structural change be released publicly! If they don’t have approval everything must stop. I m not sure the process was completed. Release the document that this construction has been approved
This construction has NOT been approved. Such changes require the approval of a historical committee that he never consulted; or at least, there are no reports that he did.
So incredibly depressing. Is there nothing this administration won’t do? And do we, the part of society who IS paying attention have any recourse? I used to think that we’d somehow find a through. Now I’m not so sure.
I am now officially numb. Every day a new horror perpetrated on the American people by a deranged and narcissistic president. No earth shaking opposition from the Democrats, no sane Republican arising from the ashes to save us and no relief to be seen.
The most recognizable symbol of democracy in this country along with the Liberty Bell, now being transformed into a Vegas hotel. Shocking? Not at all.

We have been subjected to a slow-motion coup since Donffrey Trumpstein's first term in office. What the MAGA acolytes used to assert against others without evidence, they now practice openly and wantonly. Don't just sit there as a spectator! GET INVOLVED! VOTE as if your life depended on it, because it does.
The first thing the new Democratic President must do is to tear down the ballroom and begin the reconstruction of the East Wing; this goes for the restoration of the Rose Garden to its original state. Of course it goes without saying that all the gaud in the Oval Office must go, first day. The second thing is ordering the Army transport and drop the Qatari bribe plane into the ocean near Mar-a-Lago. The third thing is to begin oversight hearings on every single member, up the line and down, of all Cabinet members and their departments and staff. The fourth thing is to heave a big sigh of relief that The People and the Constitution will have been restored and that what Trump has wrought will never, ever happen again. Restoration. Rebuild. Rekindle hope for our country's future.
