Olivia - evil people who are afraid of losing power. Make a plan, bring a friend, get out and express your right to vote. I voted last Saturday on day 1 in Nevada, North Las Vegas. Friendly election workers, no harassing.
Olivia, you were all over WTOP radio last week with this story. Thanks for all that you do, including marching with us across Memorial Bridge on Saturday!
I will take my ballot to a secure dropbox later today. I don't expect any problems, but this is Blue Ballard, Seattle. Other parts farther out within Seattle have had ICE attacks, and in some of the surrounding suburbs, but I don't expect I will get tackled today. The other thing, the 98107 Post Office is across the street but I am walking past it to the dropbox. Why? I don't trust the bulk mail facility. Thanks, Trump, for destroying our life-long trust of our Postal Service. You bitter little goon.
I am so sorry for the decent folks of the USA. Sadly your country has been shown to have more racists, bigots, xenophobes, bullies, etc. than the rest of the world ever suspected. My estimation of the USA has been in decline ever since the country elected George W. Bush - although Obama was a wonderful surprise, Trump has revealed the rotten core. His autocratic regime's utter betrayal of Ukraine is appalling and his treatment of the country's inhabitants will go down in history.
I fear for the safety of all who resist the Orange Menace.
At the bottom of the poster it says "...no one is above the law." (True, but clearly not when it comes to the current administration) Do words have meaning anymore?
I work the polls on election day in CT. No real signs of voter intimidation. But if I see any, I'll have the officer who'll likely be assigned to our polling place deal with it.
Thanks, Olivia: Thanks for all you do. Keep the folks informed. I keep thinking of 1933 Germany. The administration is using similar tactics. Trump has his ICE Gestapo units out there intimidating folks, dropping off leaflets, causing great concern. The Administration has a lot of similarities to the Nazi movement. Trump lies like Hitler. Congress is paranoid; the Department of Justice is no more. The FBI will be marshalling goons out on the streets and the polls with the excuse of protecting the vote. A voting system that has never had any major problems before. Someone should infiltrate the leaflet droppers and leak.
The election saw Nazi stormtroopers unleash a widespread campaign of violence against the Communist Party (KPD), left-wingers,[2]: 317 trade unionists, the Social Democratic Party[2] and the Centre Party.[2]: 322 They were the last multi-party elections in a united Germany until the all-German vote in 1990,
50,000 members of the SS, SA and Der Stahlhelm were ordered to monitor the votes by acting Interior Minister Hermann Göring, as auxiliary police
I'm not sure what could possibly be accomplished by the flyers in this area. Nothing is going to stop wins by Beyer or Warner. And, the three questions. Not close here. So, maybe publicizing this wasn't the best tactic. We all have to figure out how to rid ourselves of the pestilence called Trump.
Great letter as usual. We live in Washington State. We’d like to help with voter registration or get out the vote in other states since we aren’t really needed for that in our little very blue town. We’ve done the Vote Cards for Nevada, but what’s an effective phone or texting operation in maybe Texas, Michigan or Maine? Thanks
Hey Olivia! I assumed it was illegal to place an unauthorized Federal department seal on communications. Here is what I found:
Yes, it is generally illegal to put a federal logo or seal on flyers without explicit, written permission from the specific government agency.
While work created by the U.S. federal government is typically in the public domain and not subject to traditional copyright laws, federal agency logos, insignias, and seals are heavily protected by separate trademark laws and criminal statutes.
The legal restrictions, potential consequences, and few exceptions are outlined below:
🚫 Why It is Illegal
The primary intent behind these laws is to prevent consumer confusion and stop individuals or businesses from misleading the public.
• The Impression of Endorsement: According to guidance from USA.gov, you cannot use federal government trademarks or agency logos to suggest an endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation that does not exist. Placing a logo on a flyer naturally implies that the agency backs your message, event, or product.
• Statutory Violations: Under 18 U.S. Code § 709, it is a federal crime to misuse names, initials, or tokens of federal agencies to falsely advertise or give a false impression of federal connection.
Penalties for Misuse
If you print flyers utilizing unauthorized federal imagery, you face several layers of enforcement:
• Civil Lawsuits: Agencies can sue you under the Lanham Act for trademark infringement.
• Criminal Fines and Jail Time: Depending on the specific seal or insignia used (such as Department of Defense or FBI emblems), unauthorized use can lead to federal criminal charges carrying fines and potential prison time. For example, violating restrictions on the Great Seal can result in fines and up to six months in prison.
Would trumpstein's acolytes go after someone for this illegal activity? Doubtful, but so much for that "law and order" crowd.
Thank you Olivia for reporting this nefarious behavior. My husband and I live in Washington State and have already voted and delivered our ballots to a secure state ballot box. The Secretary of State here recommended avoiding the mail and using the official ballot boxes. We live in a retirement community and have volunteered to help other residents by delivering their ballots to these boxes. This is legal in our state. I anticipate there may be people monitoring the box locations who may try to interfere with our delivery.

He told his supporters to “cheat like hell”.
🤣 No one is above the law! Has the president seen this notice? 🤣🤣

I fear for the safety of all of you who live under the attacks of this century’s Stalin. 😢 🙏🏻 for Ukraine.

Yeah, I noticed that too. They throw their guilt at the faces of the innocent. 😒

Excellent article, Olivia! Sending support from the ❤️ to your mom and you.
Thank you Olivia
